MEDORA, NORTH DAKOTA · VISITOR GUIDE

Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

Make a Medora day trip from Dickinson for presidential history, interactive exhibits and Badlands views. The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, also known as the TR Presidential Library or Teddy Roosevelt library, opened July 4, 2026.

What to see at the Roosevelt library

Eight chapters follow Roosevelt from his childhood through the Badlands, the presidency and his later travels. Storytelling galleries and hands-on experiences connect his choices and conservation legacy with questions visitors can explore today. Allow about three and a half hours for the exhibitions, with another hour if you want to walk the boardwalk. See the official exhibit guide.

Tickets, admission and free outdoor areas

As checked October 7, 2026, museum tickets are $26 for adults ages 13 and up and $16 for ages 3–12; children under 3 are free. Discounts are listed for seniors, military visitors, college students and groups of 15 or more. Admission uses timed entry. Booking ahead is recommended; walk-ups depend on available space.

The grounds, one-mile boardwalk and living roof are free to visit. The Museum Shop and Salt + Scoria restaurant can also be visited without museum admission. Check outdoor access and weather before setting out. Confirm prices and reserve tickets.
